Brunel Scaffolding last week commenced the second phase of the works at Polaris House in Swindon. Last year the ground floor and first floor windows where successfully changed while this year sees the second floor windows being worked on. The scaffold is being erected in cuplock to the external elevations and the internal courtyard elevations of the building.

The site in Chippenham for McCarthy & Stone is nearing its final height after 6 months of solid construction, the east section of the building now has has the timber frame 3rd floor which can be seen at the far right hand side of the photograph. The section nearest has one more floor to go before the timber frame is erected on top as per the first timber frame phase.

Brunel Scaffolding completed a shoring scaffold at Strattenborough Castle Farm, (Watchfield) last week, the shoring scaffold was erected to one of the out buildings of the farm to support the walls to prevent any collapses. The building itself is a listed building with a preservation order, the job took a total of 2 days to erect by an experienced gang of scaffolders. Brunel Scaffolding provides roof edge protection and access to any type of building, below is a recent job we completed at Dorcan, Swindon where we provided a double handrail system to the flat roof with a ladder access tower to provide easy access up to roof level.

Our Cuplock scaffold is being prepared and organised by our yard manager for its next job for Feltham Construction in Tilehurst. The project is a new steel frame sixth form with large panels of curtain walling and glazing along with brickwork and rendered elevations.

Brunel Scaffold has this week erected the internal crash decks to allow the demolition of the FF slab for the new lift shaft and main escalator void. The works took just over a day to complete by a gang of three scaffolders. Whilst on site the steel beams where being crane lifted into the building from the courtyard (bottom image).

Brunel Scaffolding has been continuing the external scaffold on the new care home for McCarthy & Stone in Chippenham. The external scaffold is now up to the 4th lift and nearing full height to the three storey section of the building.

Brunel Scaffolding have erected a job on Royal Wootton Bassett high street for works to the chimney stack to allow them to dismantle and re erect the stack. A pavement licence was successfully applied for from Wiltshire Council to allow us to erect the scaffold on the pavement.

Brunel Scaffolding Ltd will be starting works on a new site in Swindon early next month, the developer ‘McCarthy & Stone’ today released this CAD image of what the state of the art retirement complex will look like.

The external scaffold will be a traditional scaffold with tube and fitting, the internals of the building will be fully birdcaged we have also allowed for a number of external loading bays and staircase access towers.
